The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority (FBCTRA) has teamed up with Trees for Houston- a non-profit organization dedicated to street tree planting-to launch a community tree planting effort dubbed the Fort Bend Parkway Beautification Project. The non-profit effort is in place to enhance current landscaping plans and by raising through community and business contributions to plant additional trees along the Parkway.
At the Fort Bend Parkway groundbreaking ceremony, community participants donated $9,750, which translated into 65 donated trees, effectively kicking off the Fort Bend Parkway Beautification Project. To assist, the FBCTRA is engaging a landscape architect to develop the plan that will guide the tree-planting efforts. The cost per tree is $150; however, all contributions are welcome and encouraged. A tree can be named and planted in honor, tribute, or memoriam of any individual or entity. Contributors will receive a certificate of donation in exchange for their gifts. All gifts are tax deductible.
