Patrons who do not have an EZ-Tag will have two options: they will need to have exact change ready or if they do not have exact change, they will have the opportunity to use a change machine at the main lane toll plaza prior to reaching the toll collection basket. The change machine takes $1 and $5 bills and will disburse the money in golden $1 coins, which can then be thrown into the collection basket.
Q: Who will be responsible for patrolling the Parkway?
A:
Q: What is the speed limit on the Fort Bend Parkway?
A: The speed limit has been set at 65 mph.
Q: What is the cost to travel the Fort Bend Parkway?
A: Please see the tolls for the Parkway
Q: Will my EZ-Tag work on the Parkway?
A: Yes, if you have an existing EZ-Tag you're ready to ride on the Parkway.
Q: I don't have an EZ-Tag, how does the EZ-Tag program work?
A: The EZ-Tag program allows participating motorists to prepay their tolls using a major credit card or direct debit payment option. There is an initial deposit of $40.00 (for the first three tags). The EZ-Tag itself is a small credit-card sized device that adheres to the inside of the windshield. As EZ-Tag patrons use the system, tolls are electronically deducted from their accounts. When an EZ-Tag account reaches the minimum balance level, it automatically recharges (or debits) the customer's credit card or bank account to bring it back to the original deposit amount. The EZ-Tag is completely compatible with the Harris County Toll Road Authority System.
The EZ-Tag is also part of the TxTag system that allows patrons to use participating toll roads across the state. Participating agencies can be identified by the red, white, and blue square TxTag emblem on the toll plaza lane identification signs.
Q: If I don't have an EZ-Tag, where and how do I get an EZ-Tag?
A: You can also have an application mailed to you, by calling (281/875-3279). Fill it out completely, and return it to the EZ-Tag Store address on the form. Your Tag will be mailed to you complete with mounting instructions. You can also stop by any of the EZ-Tag Stores to apply and pick up your Tag the same day.
Q: Will there be an EZ-Tag Store in Fort Bend County?
A: There will not be an EZ-Tag Store in the Fort Bend area initially. However, if needed, we are not ruling out adding one in the future.
Q: What is the Fort Bend Parkway Beautification Project?
A: FBCTRA is partnering with Trees for Houston, a non-profit organization, dedicated to tree planting on the Fort Bend Parkway Beautification Project. The project is a program designed to positively impact the surrounding communities and the environment by beautifying the needed thoroughfare along the Parkway. Each donation is tax-deductible and can be mailed to P.O. Box 13096, Houston, TX 77219-3096
